To lure fairies into your backyard, plant a fairy garden! A fairy's favorite flowers are roses and bluebells. If you plant these flowers, then tuck pretty stones, shiny crystals and lovely seashells in among the flower beds, a fairy is sure to come. Fairy Legends... So...You Want To See A Fairy... Welcome Summer on the Solstice and Welcome Fairies to the Land FAIRY DUST NECKLACE INSTRUCTIONS: Cover your work-space with newspaper or a piece of paper towel; you'll be working with glitter, and that can be messy. Next, uncork your glass bottle and set the bottle aside. Carefully holding the tiny cork between your fingers, pierce it through the center with your needle and thread. Once the needle is all the way through, remove the needle, leaving the string threaded through the cork, as the "chain" for your necklace. Determine your desired length for your necklace and trim your thread accordingly; tie off by knotting the thread. Now, fill your glass bottle with glitter or seeds. As the opening is so small, this can be challenging. You can make the task easier by using a tiny funnel, which you can make by cutting a small circle out of paper, then shaping into a cone. Once your bottle is filled with "fairy dust," cork it. You're ready to wear your new necklace! FAIRY FLOWER CROWN INSTRUCTIONS: Twist one end from each pipe cleaner together. Hold it around the upper part of your forehead (or the forehead of the one who will be wearing the crown, for proper measurements) and then twist the other ends together. This will make the base of the crown. If necessary, gently cut/separate the flowers from the main stem. Leave an inch or two of each stem on the flowers if possible. You can also leave some leaves, or use them separately if you prefer. Hot glue the flowers and leaves to the pipe cleaner crown base. Once you've attached your desired amount of flowers and leaves, prepare to add the ribbon. Cut 8 pieces of ribbon, at varying lengths, between one and two feet long. Glue one end of each piece of ribbon to the inside, back edge of the flower crown. Your Fairy Flower Crown is complete and ready to wear! |
Legend has it that at this time of year, with all of nature under the sway of Spring and the first day of Summer approaching, it is fairy season!
